RATL 1 | Lesson 4 | Explore (Distance, Rate, and Time)

Distance, Rate, and Time

Distance, rate, and time problems also require proportional reasoning.

Here is an example.

A passenger plane made a trip to Dallas and back. On the trip there it flew 432 mph and on the return trip it went 480 mph. How long did the trip there take if the return trip took nine hours?

Use distance is equal to rate times time. Try some of the same strategies you used for the mixture problems (tables, pictures, equations).
