GEOM 1 | Lesson 1: Developing Formulas for Area of Multiple Shapes

Learning Intentions (Objectives)

a) Students will develop the formulas for the area of a rectangle, parallelogram, triangle, trapezoid, and circle by establishing how they are developed from one another.

b) Students will apply the formulas to solve for areas of these shapes.

Rationale (Diagnostic Results)

You often do not remember common geometric formulas such as the area of a trapezoid, parallelogram, circle, etc.
