Overview
Learning Intentions (Objectives)
1) Students will use common formulas for area to develop formulas for area of more complex shapes.
2) Students will apply the formulas for area that you have developed in real-world problems.
Rationale (Diagnostic Results)
You often don’t draw pictures to help them solve problems. You may have difficulty identifying both the objectives and constraints of problems. You may struggle with de- and re-contextualizing a problem. You are often unfamiliar with splitting up complex regions into simpler ones, to compute areas or lengths.
