RATL 3 | Lesson 1 | Solutions (Evaluating Rational Expressions)

Solutions:

  1.
  1. for \(x = 2\), solution is undefined; for \(x = -3\), solution is \(\dfrac{-14}{5}\); \(x=-6\), solution is \(\dfrac{-41}{5}\)
  2. for  \(x=2\), solution is \(\dfrac{8}{5}\);  for \(x = -3\), solution is undefined; for \(x=-6\), solution is \(-8\)
  3. for \(x = 2\), solution is undefined; for \(x = -3\), solution is \(-1\); for \(x=-6\), solution is \(\dfrac{23}{16}\)
  1. Any time there is a zero in the denominator, there is no solution for that value of \(x\).
