Solving Rational Equations

Note that there are restrictions on the denominator. For instance, in problem a) \(x\) cannot be \(-4\) as it would make the denominator zero. For this case the value of \(x\) that is not possible does not interfere with the solutions which is \(-3\dfrac{7}{19}\).
In b) the denominator cannot be 5 or \(-2\), so the answer has to be \(x=-3\). This will be explained more in the next module.
