RATL 3 | Lesson 2 | Try This! (Solve Rational Equations) Solutions

For both problems, you should have identified any restrictions on the domain.

You should have noted that \(x\neq{0}\). Did you use the quadratic formula or completing the square on b?

The answers to this problem are

  1. \(x=\dfrac{3+\sqrt{129}}{6} , \, x=\dfrac{3-\sqrt{129}}{6}\)
  2. Did you notice that \(a\neq{-3},2\).     Solution to this equation is \(a=7\).
