POLQ 3 | Lesson 4 | Practice (Writing in Center-Radius Form)

In order to change the standard equation of a circle to the circle-radius form, you will need to complete the square.

1) \(x^2 + y^2 – 10x + 4y + 17 = 0\)

2) \(x^2 + y^2 – 8x – 24y + 144 = 0\)

3) \(x^2 + y^2 + 4x + 6y – 12 = 0\)

Once you have the these equations in circle form, draw a sketch of the circle. Which equation form made it easier to draw these sketches. Why?

Check your solutions.
