# GEOM 1 | Lesson 1 | Practice (Area of Circles) Solution

1. In each case you can have 9 full circles of radius 2.
2. The area of the rectangle is $$180$$ square feet and the area of the 9 circles is approximately $$113$$ square feet.  There are $$67$$ square feet not covered by the circles, approximately.
3. The area of the larger circle is $$9π$$ and the area of the smaller circle is $$4π$$ .  The area of the ring is the difference between the two or $$5π$$.
4. The length of the arc is:  $$\dfrac{45}{360} \cdot2π(3)$$ or $$\dfrac{3π}{4}$$.
